Jakarta City Council Chairman, Khoirudin reminds the importance of flood handling mitigation as standard of anticipatory steps.

Khoirudin said that flood mitigation must be focused on prevention and reducing risk.

"Flood mitigation must be a standard. The concept is not just handling when a flood occurs, but more on prevention efforts," he said, Monday (12/2).

According to him, Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi has requested related regional working units to cooperate to make sure the water flow, accelerate flood handling, optimizing early warning systm, and up to make sure the readiness of flood handling infrastructures such as water pump and so on.

"Acting Governor has delivered his nine flood handling directions. Hopefully this comprehensive efforts are able to solve current flood," he added.

Khoirudin appealed related sides to implement the instructions for handling flood optimally.

"Please implement the Acting Governor's direction well and consistently," he continued.

He stated that flood mitigation and handling run by Jakarta Provincial Government is already good.

"It includes increasing resident readiness," he stated.
